The course is an out-and-back format, following along the Great Southern Overland Stagecoach Route of 1849. There are seven fully stocked rest stations, with roving on-course SAG support. 1 Sunday RIDE 4 AIDS. Ride routes of 10, 25 and 50 miles that start and finish at Spanish Landing Park in San Diego. The 10 mile flat route includes a loop around Harbor Island to Seaport Village and back. Start Time is 9:00 a.m. The 25 mile route includes the 10 mile route with the addition of a hilly bike loop up to the Cabrillo National Monument and back. Start Time is 8:00 a.m. The 50 mile route is mixed terrain directing cyclists to Cabrillo National Monument, Mission Bay, up to the UCSD/Torrey Pines area and back. 5-6 Saturday and Sunday THE X RIDES. Celebrates the 10th anniversary of the dedication of Nevada’s Extraterrestrial Highway, Highway 375. The ET Highway runs east/west just north of the infamous “Area 51” secret U.S. testing grounds for aircraft (and UFOs?). X Ride 40-mile route takes cyclists on a night ride to the famous Mail Box roadway leading to Area 51. On Sunday, a fully-supported 27-mile mountain bike ride takes place to the “outer limits.” Start/finish is in Rachel, Nevada. Camping available.
